Yosef Kiat

I am a bird ringer since 2004 and director of the Israeli Bird Ringing Center since 2015. I am interested mainly in hte ecology and evolution of moult strategies in passerines. My interest in feathers and moult developed through my work as a bird ringer. I complete my M.Sc. on the effect of moult on flight performance in passerines in the Hebrew University of Jerusalem under the supervision of Prof. Ran Nathan. Since 2017 I am a Ph.D. student in the Animal Flight Group.

About us

We are a group of scientists devoted to the study of animal flight, including animal movement ecology, behavior, physiology and biomechanics. We study wild animals in the field and in the lab using a diversity of research approaches. We welcome applications for M.Sc. and Ph.D. studies and post-doctoral work in our group at the Department of Evolutionary and Environmental Biology at the University of Haifa.
