Dr. David (Dudi) Deutsch
Sagol Department of Neurobiology

Research by: Dr. David (Dudi) Deutsch

We congratulate Dr. David (Dudi) Deutsch for joining the Sagol Department of Neurobiology. Dudi’s lab will focus on identifying neural mechanisms for the processing and production of socially meaningful communication at the level of circuits, cells, and molecules, using the vinegar fly Drosophila melanogaster as a model system. The Deutsch lab will use a multidisciplinary approach, adopting tools from biology, engineering and computer science. The lab will probe brain dynamics in a behaving fly using two-photon microscopy and electrophysiology, while manipulating specific cells and present complex natural stimuli. The lab will also use computational tools to quantify and model social interactions, while using the genetic tools available in Drosophila to manipulate specific cells and biological pathways. The Deutsch lab is now recruiting! Open positions include a lab manager and students at all levels. For more details please visit – https://deutschlab.haifa.ac.il/.
