Our lab conducts research in Landscape Ecology, the field that aims to understand the relationships between spatial patterns and ecological phenomena. Our work is equally divided between theoretical questions—such as the mechanisms driving spatial biodiversity patterns—and applied questions, such as how anthropogenic activities like urban development and altered fire regimes affect neighboring ecosystems. To answer these questions, we utilize diverse research tools, including GIS and remote sensing, data analysis, and ecological modelling.
