המחקר בחוג נוגע בהבטים אבולוציונים וסביבתיים של אורגניזמים רבים: מחרקים ויונקים, דרך צמחים ועד חידקים ווירוסים, וכן יחסי הגומלין ביניהם. שיטות המחקר שלנו מגוונות – החל מניסויים במעבדה ובשדה, ועד מחקר אלגוריתמי ואנליטי. אנו משתפים פעולה עם גופים מובילים בישראל ובעולם, כגון מעבדות המחקר של IBM, חיל האויר הישראלי והקונסורציום העולמי לחקר גנום החיטה.
